Amy+Clayton

Had a great time shooting Amy and Clayton. These are all basically untouched, only some global adjustments to lighting and colour in Lightroom, but between shooting beautiful people and using a 5d (thanks Nathan!) things just look awesome!

Brazilian Style!

Well, its been a LONG time... I did shoot some engagements over summer, but never posted them here.... Anyways, I had a good shoot today with this fine couple from Brazil. They flew me down there to take the pics and it was a good time... Okay, so they both live here Utah, but hey, they are from Brazil. They want the final in Black and White / sepia, so that's why most of these are that way.

Love under an Umbrella

Hmm... Doesn't quite have the same ring as 'love in an elevator'... oh well..

Forces of Nature

After working on this shot, I remembered a random DVD cover I had seen long ago. This shot reminded me of it, hence the title of the post. I have lots of stuff I am working on at the moment, and hope that I will work to get at least one post a day for a while. I have tons of dancing shots from BYU DanceSport 09, as well as a "Oscars Night" party I shot a while ago, red carpet and all..

Bling

I have been pretty busy with finals (okay..  maybe not..  but busy needing to be busy... but not really doing all that much...), and haven't posted a few of my latest shoots...  Here is a teaser.  Or just a cool shot.

Just Singin in the Rain...

Or rather, posing! Wahoo! It was a-pouring, but rain can never stop love. Or crazy cameramen...

Despite the rain, and perhaps even because of it, we got some really cool shots. My first umbrella shots!! Rihanna would be proud... or not....

A Few More...

Thanks to a comment by Mel, I realized that these guys hands looked a bit red and cold in some of the pictures on the last post. SO... I fixed their hands on this first one I am posting today and will fix them on the ones from last day if the couple chooses one of them as their final...

I still don't know a lot about using individual curves on R,G,or B, but I found that adjusting the hue of the red channel on their hands and faces made for pleasing skin tones... Anyways.

Wind, Hail, and Snow

Okay, so maybe not hail... and there really wasn't any snow... but there WAS wind, and it was terribly cold. Because of that, as well as some weird lighting, a lot of the shots from this shoot ended up looking either wind-blown, or rather flat looking (the weird lighting...). Also, as we went on, the couple got pretty cold and you could tell from their skin color.

Despite all that, we ended up getting some pretty sweet shots, and with a little color correction and stuff they actually look quite warm and pleasing. I have more and will post them later today, but for now, here are three of the four that I worked on last night before crashing.

Filmin' at the Castle

I had another shoot with Nathan yesterday. We were shooting a couple that really wants everything shot of film, so I was just backup. Nathan manned the big guns, a medium format (6x7 cm) and a large format (not sure exact size.. 5 inches maybe?) monster. It was great because the couple had a lot of ideas as to what poses and shots they wanted. All in all it was a fun evening. (aside from lugging potted trees up to the castle lol... but that wasn't too bad in the end...)

Tahitian Style

Went out yesterday for an engagement shoot in the gardens at Tahitian Noni. It was a really pretty place!
